At ten o’clock this morning, a parade went through the town. Loud fun danceable blaring music, men dressed in street clothes dancing, women beautifully dressed and umbrellas and money trees. There were also giant puppet like figures. I have been googling to try to figure out the festival details and the money trees especially. Can’t figure it out. We believe it’s a Burmese festival or celebration as most of the children in the parade were from the local Burmese school we teach at. But, it’s still a mystery.
Sure do love living in a foreign country as there is always something interesting and confounding going on.
Great photos, Debra! Send me your vacation dates for March, please?
